Timeout

Haunting, hounding,
Chasing me down
Running so fast
Feet leave the ground

Too much going on inside
Churning me up.
Eating away
Can’t face it again today

Timeout! Leave me alone
I won’t come to the door
I’m not gonna answer the phone

Why is it so surprising
That I feel my temperature rising
I need some time for me
Some time alone

Been too long in this race
time to take a change of pace
I’m taking timeout for me
And I’m taking it on my own.

Timeout, leave me alone
I won’t come to the door
I’m wgonna answer the phone

Can’t go on forever
This storm’s too big to weather
Pushing me into the brink
When I want time to think

Can’t leave it bubbling under
The rain will turn to thunder
Steam rises as the anger burns
The pressure’s high, these no return

So….Timeout, leave me alone
I won’t come to the door
I won’t answer the phone
